Celebrating Child Life

During the month of March, we recognize and celebrate our team of Child Life Specialists at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Child Life Specialists are trained professionals educated in child development and skilled at working with children and families to overcome the challenges of a hospitalization.  
Hospitals can be scary for young patients, siblings, and parents. Through one-on-one interaction, Child Life Specialists help children deal with emotional issues and uncertainties that may arise from their medical conditions or from their hospital stay. Through medical play, coping techniques, and playroom interaction they help make hospitalized children comfortable and content. The materials used and programs run by our Child Life Specialists are made possible by generous donations.
