5 Reasons to Celebrate Children’s Hospital of Georgia this Summer

There are many miracle moments to celebrate at Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Here are special moments from the summer to celebrate with our patients, families and staff!

1. May is for Miracles Fundraiser Raises Money for Pediatric Facility

The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, May is for Miracles, raised almost $4,500 through a design competition. The money will help fund construction for the new Pediatric Multi-Specialty Care Tower.

2. All Children’s Hospital of Georgia Summer Camps moved from Rutledge, Georgia to Camp Lakeside in Lincoln County

All four of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia summer camp programs, which include Camp Rainbow, Camp Joint Venture, Camp Strong Heart and Camp Sweet Life, moved to the newly renovated Camp Lakeside in Lincoln County. The camps offer entertainment and relaxation for patients and their families.

3. Hines Ward Visit to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia

Two-time Super Bowl champ Hines Ward met with patients and staff at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Ward was in Augusta to speak at the best of the CSRA Preps Award banquet to honor All-Stat high school athletes from the area, and he stopped by the hospital as well.

4. 2019 Miracle Treat Day Fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network

Local Dairy Queen locations in Augusta and South Carolina participated in Miracle Treat Day, a fundraiser put on by Children’s Miracle Network for the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, on July 25, 2019. For every DQ Blizzard sold, $1 or more went to support our kids at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Last year’s fundraiser made over a $100,000 for the hospital.

5. Brave the Shave Event kicks off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The Children’s Hospital of Georgia hosted the second annual Brave the Shave, an awareness event designed to focus on Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and to raise money for the hospital. Proceeds from this event will go to support childhood cancer care and research.
